How Pinuno Academy collects, uses, and protects your personal information.

1. Our Privacy Commitment

Pinuno Ghana Limited ("Pinuno Academy", "we", "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us when you use www.pinuno.com.gh or enrol in our programmes.

This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and what rights you have over it. We operate under the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) of Ghana and apply appropriate safeguards aligned with international best practice.

2. What We Collect

Identity & Contact

Full name, email address, phone number, postal/digital address (GhanaPostGPS code).

Payment & Registration

Course selected, payment method (MoMo number, network), payment reference, registration date.

Learning Activity

Course progress, assignment submissions, quiz scores, certificate records — managed via our online learning platform.

Technical & Usage

IP address, browser type, pages visited, session cookies, reCAPTCHA score, error logs.

We collect personal information only when you voluntarily provide it (e.g., registration forms, contact forms) or when it is automatically generated by your use of the site.

We do not sell your personal data to any third party.

4. Mobile Money & Payments

All course fees are paid via Mobile Money (MoMo). When you make a payment:

  • Your MoMo number and network (MTN, Telecel, AirtelTigo) are collected to initiate the USSD push.
  • PIN entry and authorisation happen directly on your handset — your PIN is never transmitted to or stored by Pinuno Academy.
  • Payment confirmation is received securely from our payment gateway (Hubtel).
  • We store the payment reference, amount, status, and timestamp for audit and reconciliation purposes.

Card or bank transfer data is handled entirely by the payment gateway and is subject to their respective privacy policies. We do not store full card numbers.

5. Learning Data

Course content is delivered through our online learning platform. When you access course materials, the platform records:

  • Login activity, pages visited, time-on-task
  • Assignment and quiz submissions, grades, and feedback
  • Messages to instructors

This data is used solely to administer your learning, assess your progress, and issue certificates upon completion. Instructors and course admins can view your progress.

Your course access is activated automatically when your registration is confirmed. You log in once via pinuno.com.gh and your courses are accessible directly from your dashboard.

6. How We Keep You Safe

HTTPS & HSTS

All data in transit is encrypted with TLS. HSTS enforced with a 1-year max-age.

Hashed Passwords

Passwords are hashed with bcrypt — we cannot read your password.

Secure Sessions

HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Strict cookies. Sessions invalidated on logout.

Rate Limiting

Form endpoints are rate-limited (10 requests/hour) to prevent abuse.

reCAPTCHA v3

Google reCAPTCHA v3 on all public forms to block automated submissions.

Secure File Storage

Uploaded files are stored outside the webroot with MIME validation.

Despite these measures, no system is perfectly secure. Please notify us immediately at info@pinuno.com.gh if you suspect any unauthorised access to your account.

7. Your Rights & Choices

Under the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Correction: Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
Erasure: Request deletion of your data where no legal basis for retention exists.
Objection: Object to processing based on legitimate interest, including direct marketing.
Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format.
Restriction: Ask us to pause processing while a complaint is investigated.

To exercise any right, email info@pinuno.com.gh with subject "Data Rights Request". We will respond within 21 days.

We do not share your data with any other third party without your explicit consent, except where required by law.

9. Cookies

We use cookies to operate the site and improve your experience. You can manage your cookie preferences at any time via the cookie banner. For full details, see our Cookie Policy.

Refusing non-essential cookies does not affect your ability to register for or access courses.

10. Children's Privacy

Our programmes are designed for individuals aged 16 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child under 16 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at info@pinuno.com.gh and we will delete that information promptly.

11. Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated via a notice on the site or by email to registered users. Your continued use of the site after such changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
